How Much Does a FortiGate Firewall Cost? A Plain-English Guide for Small and Mid-Size Business

A FortiGate quote has three pieces: the hardware, the security subscriptions, and support. Most buyers focus on the first and get surprised by the other two.

What a small-office FortiGate costs

The FortiGate 60F is the common choice for offices of roughly 10 to 50 people. Here's what it costs as a bundle, with hardware, one year of security subscriptions, and support included:

1-year bundle: list price (MSRP) is about $1,479; online reseller prices I found ran from roughly $980 to $1,143.

3-year bundle: MSRP is about $2,389, with a reseller price near $1,847.

The 3-year bundle works out to roughly $616 per year all-in, versus $980 to $1,143 for year one alone. It saves money if you plan to keep the firewall that long. These are online reseller prices from October 2026. Your actual price will vary with the reseller, any deal registration, and volume.

What's in the bundle

Hardware: the firewall itself.

Unified Threat Protection (UTP): intrusion prevention, malware scanning, web and DNS filtering, and application control. This is the usual choice for small and mid-size business.

FortiCare Premium: 24x7 support, hardware replacement, and firmware updates.

A firewall without current subscriptions still routes traffic, but it isn't protecting you the way you think.

UTP vs Enterprise

Fortinet also sells an Enterprise bundle with more features. On the 60F, one reseller lists the 1-year Enterprise bundle at about $908 against $835 for UTP, and the 3-year at about $1,618 against $1,419. That's roughly a 9 to 14 percent premium. Unless you need the extra features, UTP is the better value.

What else adds cost

Installation and configuration, or a managed service

Cloud logging and management

A second unit for failover, if downtime is expensive for you

A larger model: if you have more than about 50 users or heavy traffic, step up to the 100F class

Three ways to avoid overpaying

Ask for a line-item quote so hardware, subscriptions, and support are separate.

Compare the 3-year and 1-year totals, not just year one.

Skip features you won't configure. An Enterprise bundle you don't use is wasted money.
